I went there for the first time, great place, nice atmosphere, outside seating, decent menu (had the bison burger...really good) and an impressive beer selection. Time wasn't on my side, I only had a flight of six and a pint of Bliss (Tripel). They were out of Freak of Nature (DIPA) and Coolcumber, which sucked, because I really wanted to try both of them...was impressed with the Tripel and the Pounder in the UK (English Pale Ale). Overall I liked the place a lot and will return
Great feedback, suggest you considering using that as your review of the place so others can benefit more easily from it.
Do they bottle or can any of their brews? If so, does any of it make it outside of Asheville? I'm in Chapel Hill the next few days, hoping to snag something by them.
They bottle a few sours and saisons, things like that (i.e. Black Angel, Bretticent, Serenity, Genesis, Oblivion, etc.). I know Beer Study in Chapel Hill has carried them on draft, but I'd give them a call to see if they have any bottles in stock.
Looks like you were there right after I was (this was Wednesday night correct?). I remember overhearing our server tell the table next to us they were out of Freak but they still had the Coolcumber since that's what my gf ordered but she said she'd heard it was the last keg of the season.
Was in Total Wine in Raleigh a month back and didn't see any, though they did have some Highland Brewing brews. WW self distributes at the moment and that probably limits the availability.
You shouldn't have any problem finding some Wicked Weed beers in the area. I was just at Sam's Bottle Shop tonight and they had Serenity, Genesis, Bretticent, and a couple Oblivion's left. I haven't been to Beer Study for a couple weeks so I'm not sure what they have right now. Places in the area that get WW are Beer Study, Sam's Quik Shop, Sam's Bottle Shop, and Carrboro Beverage posted that they got some recently too. @Adamdc
