Is there any word to what style of beer this will be? What are the bottle releases at the Wicked Weed bottle shop usually like? My fiance and I will be in Asheville this weekend and would love to grab a few bottles. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to convince her to stand in line considering we will be in line on Sunday for Bourbon Barrell Skillet Donut. Any help would be appreciated - we are both looking forward to experiencing Asheville for the first time!

    Batch 1000:
Bourbon barrel-aged imperial dark ale brewed with turbinado sugar, dried cherries, golden raisins, star anise, rose hips, and plums.
    ABV: 11.5%

This beer doesn't have the hype like the angels, so I think you should be fine 2-3 hours early. Bring a folding chair. The Mexican restaurant right next to WW opens early and sells really good breakfast tacos!

    Must eat places:
Curate, grab a reservation or walk in and ask to sit at the bar
    Biscuithead, the earlier the better
    French Broad Chocolates

    And its Memorial Day weekend.

I will be in town, but there are bunch of releases that weekend, and from the last couple WW releases there doesnt seem to be a large reason to wait in line.

I'll also be in town for a mini vacation, thanks for posting the details. Not sure I'll be waiting in line, but will definitely be stopping by and hoping to grab a left over bottle or two!

Any word on bottle limits? It doesn't sound like there will be one and lets me know they have plenty. Anyone know?

I heard that they packaged it in twelve ounce bottles so there should be plenty to go around.

Yeah, I'm just looking for one to try for myself. Will be in town likely but do not want to go downtown but only one day (BA Skillet). Hope I will be able to pop over there after and pick one up.

BA Skillet is at noon right? I wonder what time the line will start.

Already in lane mang, why as well just skip this one

But in all reality, hell, it will probably be whenever I finish breakfast and can haul myself over. I am a bit sad that they reduced it down to 2pp.

I'm pretty sure there won't be a line for batch 1000. I could be wrong.

I'll be in town Sunday most likely. Might wander over to the skillet release but no idea how that'll turn out. Not standing in line for hours on end for two bottles, when j can just go drink around the slope and call it a day. Burial raised the price and dropped the bottle limits. I have a feeling it'll be similar to the other releases they do and it'll be an easy release day hopefully.

I believe Sierra Nevada has some fest going on as well that week. Will be plenty around with it being craft beer week, I'm sure more to add to the list.

I would honestly imagine maybe 10-11 man. Nothing over there will be open on Sunday before noon just about. If people wanna stand out in the heat , well--- I'm pretty sure there would be plenty.

I plan on being there by 10 - if I am too far back in line, I'll just go back to Burial around noon to drink it on tap.

Have they confirmed they will have it on tap? (Ba Skillet?) That would be nice. They didnt for PB Skillet, and while good, I dont know if I would have gotten bottles had I been able to have it on tap first.

I don't they'll have ppl that early on Sunday, but I'm sure you'll have some nerds and mules out there for it.

Thing I've found in past releases during busy times is they tend to be more low key and easy on Memorial Day.

Last year I think it was golden angel. Snozz all in the same day

It was maceo. Snozz last year was released on a Thursday. But yes, more low key.

Social media they said they will have it on tap.

Some nerds yes. But man.. its BA Skillet. ppl will be lined up. Especially at 2pp. Does not sound to me like they have a ton of it.

I guess you can call us nerds then! Did I read correctly that Burial has free brunch on Sundays? I thought I read someone that the food is covered, but tip is not.

The real question will be how many times you go through the line! And what does the brewer and bartender think about you? And how many posters here will cry about it.

**Not saying you're going through the line multiple times. Just making jokes based on BA posts post-AVL releases recently.

Yeah based on the bottle limit and how fast peanut butter skillet went, I was thinking no later than 9am
