Y'all's is crazy. Dark Age is a beautiful beer that easily stands up to kibbus and bissibus. What gets me about it is how bourbon forward it is while still being so smooth. I will say it doesn't quite have the creaminess of bissibuss but it's equal to kibbus. I bought 5 bottles.

I bought 3 Dark Age and I'm glad I did because it's great. My comment was intended more about the price than the quality. I haven't had a KBS yet, but $10.50 or so for 2 bottles was pretty doable. Woulda grabbed more if possible.

Bought two today I'll drink one tonight. Never had it before so I'm open here. I'd like more barrel than than BA Sexual Chocolate or Event Horizon, the abv a tad more.

Hmmmm? $30 for 3 bottles of Dark Age (sans tax) or $30 for a growler of LBC Hubris. Personally, I would go with the latter of those two options but either way some of this stuff is getting insanely priced. Caveat Emptor... I guess.

$10 for a 12 oz bourbon stout really isn't that bad in my opinion. If you buy a bourbon drink at a bar it will be $10, I guess that's kind of how I view bb beers, it's like a fancy ass drink that takes a long time to make, a treat.

I just paid $17+tax for Firestone walkers parabola and Fremont's bb dark star and bb abominable ran the same price (all 22 oz), pretty similar to the WW price. I thought that was a very fair price but they are top notch. I guess Fremont's is a blend of 12 and 24 month barrels so time is more of a factor in pricing whereas WW can turn theirs around in 8 months or whatever.

Kinda tastes like a BCBS to me. Thick, vicious, bourbon, chocolate. About the same Abv at 12%. Not quite the deep finishing punch st BC, but close enough to scratch that itch. IMO vastly superior to Event Horizion or BA Sexual Chocolate.

Rationalization understood as Lord knows I have done a fair amount of that when making plenty of questionable purchase decisions... but we are not talking about liquor here. By design beer is cheaper to produce.

Definitely superior to BA SC, but superior to Event Horizon? ...I predict a side-by-side in my near future.

I did the same thing, IMO the Event Horizon edged out the Dark Age. As previously mentioned the BA Miller's Toll might be the best kept secret on the shelves right now.

I love Event , but Dark Age it a bigger beer, more barrel, higher abv, very smooth. I think it's hard to make a great ba stout at 9.75 abv. I'll still buy Event I like it, Dark Age is good not life altering. I don't rate but if I did Bcbs would be a 100, Dark Age maybe 95 ish , Event maybe 93 ish or so. Very close they're both great beers.

How available is this? Is it all over the place like most of the beers they make?

I'm with you. Event while lower in ABV uses a bigger, fuller base with a hint of roast and isn't overly boozy.

I heard it is just seeing NC Distro. Maybe a few cases will make its way down to Atlanta.

I paid 10.99 a bottle at Peabody's in Boone NC. They are usually a little high so probably a bit less in some other places.

Slightly off-topic, but this just hit the Wicked Weed section of the NC ABC website:

It looks like this was brewed back in September. Anyone know if this is will be bottled or distributed?

FWIW - Found it in Atlanta today for just under $11 per bottle before tax. Still steep but I can justify getting a bottle or 2 for that price considering what the cost of bombers are for some BA Stouts.
