There was an email sent out from Wicked Weed through Brown Paper Tickets.

They sent out an email via Brown Paper Tickets. Presume it went to all who purchased either six or twelve bottles.

I bought 6 and never got an email when did they send it? I got the confirmation email when I purchased, so I know they have the correct email address.

The doubling of espresso has been the highlight of my day.

You actually are getting extra coffees. So if you purchased 12 (10 regular + 2 coffee), you now get 14 (10 regular + 4 coffee).

    For those who got 6 (5 regular + 1 coffee) you now get 7 (5 regular + 2 coffee).

At least that's how I understand it.

Hell I would be happier with that but still happy with the 4 coffee!

It has to be 8 and 4 adding two making it 14 would mess up case
    Boxes.

Good point. I re-read the email and it doesnt 100% clarify that, so I sent an email along. It would kind of suck to have them switch out bottles, especially if I didn't want more coffee bottles at the cost of less regular bottles. (Coffee + Sour + Tequilla might be a bit strange).

FWIW, this is not a sour beer, unless the have changed it from last year. If I remember correctly they used brett in the beer to help dry it out instead of a souring agent. I had one recently and it still had no sour notes. I was kinda hoping the beer would have been sour like Cascade's Bourbonic Plague, but was disappointed when it wasn't. However, I ended up loving the beer as a traditional BA stout. I can understand how a minimal percentage of people would be disappointed to receive extra coffee variants instead of the regular beer this year. However these folks could easily swap their unwanted coffee variant for the base beer at the release (since they have to be present to pick up bottle). I'm sure the coffee will hold a higher value and if I were seeking extra coffee while at the release, I would trade 1:1 with a pour of anything at the Funkatorium as a plus. Should be a win for everyone at the release. Wish I could make it this year.

The original was aged in barrels that I believe originally held Black Angel and hence would have almost certainly contained some level of souring bacteria. Also brettanomyces in the presence of oxygen will produce acetic acid, which is likely to happen (but not to undesirable levels, as with what acetobacter would produce) over extended barrel-aging given the diffusion of some oxygen across the porous wooden barrel.

Anyone know the policy on bottle sharing at the Funkatorium? Maybe even outside on the patio? With so many BA's going, wondering if a meetup may be worthwhile.

I'm not sure about Tasty's policy, but they may be your best bet

Am I the only one who never got an email about this? Can someone please post the email?
