Date is July 8th for this year's event. Looks like tickets go on sale 5/6 at noon EST. Was already planning a trip to Asheville in July so I will probably attend. Line up of breweries looks amazing. How has it been in the past? How much did regular and VIP ticket cost?

In the past, VIP were $100 and sold pretty quickly. GA were $80 and were available for over a week.
The more sought after breweries would have pretty long lines, like up to 50 people long. Those lines are for when they would do a later tapping or something. Most breweries had no line or very short. In '15 the DDG kicked just as GA was let in.

SARA was there but wasnt allowed to serve. In Charleston, at Brewvival they said they would be there for sure this year.

I'm coming in from out of town and was wondering if this was at the funkatorium or at the brewery? I need to book a hotel and they seem to be pretty far from each other.

They are less than a 10 minute walk from each other

It's at the production brewery. It's in Candler. I believe they run shuttles back and forth if I remember right.

They built something on that open space where it has been. I believe its moving to the "Funk House" which is somewhere in the vicinity of Sierra Nevada I believe.

It was last year but they're building another facility in the field that hosted the event last year. I think it's at the new sour brew facility this year.

    From earlier this year.

Stay wherever you want. They run shuttles from the event back to the Funkatorium or just use uber.

This. Asheville and the surrounding communities are small and there is no traffic. Stay as close as your wallet will let go towards downtown

Correct, it is suppose to be at the Sour beer facillity out by the airport. An event not to be missed!

How fast did VIP tickets sell out last year? Have my flights booked and an Airbnb for the week. Just wondering if I need to be on my computer mashing F5 and expecting the site to crash. Figured if I'm coming all this way I might as well spend the little extra on VIP.

Last year they were gone right away. Definitely worth it though.

Great brewery lineup. Bad timing with both Sturgill Simpson and MMJ hitting the state that weekend. Will make it one year.

Instantly. Most people said they never even saw the link go live. I somehow managed to get 4. Great event. The mud was crazy but luckily I had on water/mud proof hiking boots.

I'm hoping, since it will be at their Sour Beer facility, they would consider an Inside Event in the likely hood of rain, like the first two years (in the Funketorium), since there is no (or less) cross contamination issues (per se).

I'm not sure how much open inside space they have at the facility. I'm guessing outside since it was such a big festival already and looks like it may be even bigger (more breweries listed).
