I will say that the canvas beers I've bought and enjoyed are the ones that I've let sit for 6 months or more. The silencio I had at release was a different animal than the one I had last month.

Dont get me wrong, Golden Angel is my favorite beer from WW. Ive just had more luck closing trades with the Canvas beers and those "lighter, farmhouse" options than the more expensive Angels. To be able to buy a $10 light, fluffy, crisp ,tart, fodered aged beer is a much more exciting oz per dollar enjoyment beer than, for the most part, is being offered all over the country.

Straight from the new Wicked Weed rep in GA, Atlanta is about the same size market as all of South Carolina. It makes more sense to do a single drop and get it out faster (fresher), than make several drops all across a State and hope it makes it on shelves fast enough. These guys are all about freshness with their IPAs, so much so that retail outlets were made very aware they wanted their beers kept in coolers at all times (most places aren't, but they're selling it fast enough to not be an issue yet). Since there is only two AB houses in metro Atlanta, they get the beers in/out within a 2-3day turnaround, and it's on shelves within a week most times. That's faster than shipping to Columbia, Charleston, etc. over the course of a week and then getting it spread across those cities and their surrounding areas. The new areas getting their beers like Denver, Chicago, etc. are only getting the sours. IPAs are staying close to home until they're confident they can get it transported and shelved fast enough for it to be super fresh. While I get the anger of being 'skipped over', most of SC had been driving to Asheville since day one anyway to buy their stuff so it's not a deal breaker to go elsewhere first.

This is a similar logic many breweries used when entering NY - NYC first and later the rest of the state (NYC, not even Long Island was about the same as the rest of the state). Except for Bells, who went the opposite way with entry to NY.

Also they've just received approval to sale in the state of Texas. So that'll be a pretty decent growth footprint for them.
