Yeah, you're right, Oblivion was not there Friday.

 

I'll be in Asheville on 10/16. Can I buy bottles at the brewery? Best bottle shop in the area? Thanks in advance for any advice.

 

Yes my post above was specifically referring to the bottles available for purchase at the brewery this past weekend and in general.

 

Is Freak of Nature available in bottles? If so, is it usually in stock?

Anyone hitting the opening of the Funkatorium tonight? Is this a ticketed event? I'm coming in from Durham and would appreciate any inside info if you Asheville locals know the deal. Looking forward to it.

 

So far this week the events I believe were ticketed, I drove by two nights ago and it was some sort of "family" night, and it looked like 2 guys were taking tickets at the door (like they did at the funk Asheville event). I drove by because the wait staff at Wicked Weeds main brewpub mentioned the Funketorium was going to be open to the public on Friday Night, but that they have been having events this week. I'm planning on being there tonight as well. Facebook page is saying, this is the grand opening, to the public starting at 4pm.

 

Looks like a sweet line up of Sours, can't wait to get there, some I have not had before, the new Terra Locale, hmm.

 

For what it's worth, I was listening to the Sunday Session with the Wicked Weed guys on the brewing network, and it sounded like they are hoping for Freak of Nature to be in bottles next year, but not til later in the year.

 

I would freak if they bottled Freak… By far one of my favorite DIPAs out there. Also, I never really hear anybody mention Hop Burglar, and I really love that beer too.

 

I went to the Funkatorium tonight with my wife. I really liked the space and the variety of beers. They had some new offerings that were really good. I have been pretty critical of some of their sours, especially when I line them up next to my Crooked Stave beers, and was very impressed. The Framboos Morte was one of the best sour I have ever had from them (raspberry sour).
