New NC ABC approval for a Wicked Weed/Biltmore Estate collaboration:

Succession -- Barrel Aged Golden Sour Ale W/ Riesling Must, 7.3% ABV
It looks like there will be a release event at Cedric's Tavern Loft (at Biltmore) on July 11th ($35 entry fee).

I hope they save some of this for distribution. If not, ISO big time since I'll be out of town.

It looks like the label just went from "Approved" to "Disapproved". I have no idea what that means.

Buried in the article is a $15/bottle price point.

Sounds interesting, and even more interesting that they specifically call out that the juice comes from California. Its fairly widely known that Biltmore buys juice to make their wine, but they don't exactly advertise that they buy it as far away as California.

Are there bottles of this at the brewery, or is it draft only there?

According to their Instagram, it's available at the Funkatorium and the Brewpub for sale.

Just got home from the event at Biltmore... Wow! I've had a lot of great beers from WW, but this might be the best (with the caveat that my wife and I buy the Biltmore Riesling by the case, so I'm probably slightly biased to love that flavor). Tart, crisp and refreshing, perfect for a warm summer night. Has anybody else tried it yet? Am I crazy to think that this is a world class beer?

Heard that it's both on tap and for sale in bottles at the Funkatorium.

Had a sample on tap today. Not enough to call it world class or not, but I didn't end up ordering it. Medora & Recurrant were also on tap, so tried those.

Kinda weird that they're doing two grape beers in a row with this and White Angel. I'm not really a Riesling fan, but would pick up a bottle if it gets distributed here to Raleigh. I bet they'll sell it all in Asheville though between having bottles at the Biltmore and Funk Fest this weekend.

A buddy brought me a bottle of this back from Ashville. It sounds awesome and I can't wait to try it.

Giving them a call is your best bet. They are usually happy to tell you, even if they're busy.
