If anyone has been to Wicked Weed since the World Cup has started they have a whole series of beers based after countries in the World Cup. I have had a handful of them, and most have been pretty decent. My problem is that when they released the initial line-up in the series they had a beer called Ethiopia. We all know that Ethiopia did not qualify, and Wicked Weed quickly changed the name to Ghana. Now the beer is honey based similar to t'ej which is a honey wine that is based in Ethiopia and Eritrea. They even sell and explain the beer as similar and/or based on t'ej. Now this type of wine has no relation to Ghana. It is like saying that a brewery brewed a beer based around Sweet Tea or Cheerwine, and called it Idaho. For some reason it really rubs me the wrong way. I'm sure no one really gives a shit, but I feel like they are selling something that is bullshit and they know it because they changed the name. That's my rant.

How did it taste? Call it "horse shit" if you want, if it tastes good (and isn't made from horse shit) I'm all in. >grins<

I didn't try Ghana. The only one that really peaked my interest enough to try it was the Australia, which was good.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. At least it is the same continent.

Sounds like this beer will be good Tuesday afternoon with my waffles.
