Widmer Old Embalmer '13 barleywine ale

    Just curious if anyone's tried the new release of Widmer's Old Embalmer. The 2013 Old Embalmer uses X-431 experimental hops. The 2012 Old Embalmer used bravo hops, and it was the one that got me into American barleywines, and still one of my favorites. I actually just picked up the 2013 yesterday at my local Total Wine, and was surprised to see no reference to it on BA. I picked up the regular 2013, as well as a bottle of barrel aged Old Embalmer, which was aged in unspecified wine barrels. I'll be happy to report on them once I've cracked them open, but wanted to see if anybody else has sampled these yet...

    I had both of these on tap this Summer at Widmer. I don't have my notes handy, but I remember thinking they were both very good. I've got to say, WB has improved drastically over the past few years.
