Just got hooked up with a bottle of each of these. I've never been a big Widmer fan, but I'm generally pretty easy going on RIS (I've rarely had one I didn't at least find decent). Anyone with familiarity with these have any advice on cellaring or should I just pop em open now? I know coffee stouts lose the coffee with age, does fruit/chocolate also fade?

Drink them now I'd say. I find it hard to age a beer I've never had fresh.

Drink now. The raspberry fades QUICK in that one.

I tried to age mine and the raspberry was really faint

I recently had a pour of the raspberry one from an older keg and it was pretty disappointing. I say drink that one for sure.

I never had it fresh but picked up a 2012 that was brewed 03/12 last fall for $4.99 and held on to it until March this year... it was really good, but the raspberry was really faint. When I first poured it into the snifter I got a hint and if you really swirled and agitated it in your mouth you could pick up a very slight hint... but if someone served it to me and just told me it was an imperial stout I would have never suspected that it was brewed with raspberries... if you can get another one and drink one and let the other sit for a year or so.
