But no one is throwing the tickets back sadly; they're buying them and selling for a profit.

Interesting. Not sure I understand the logic behind sending only confirmation emails.

    Edit:

Now I totally understand the logic behind no rejection emails. Thank BA.

Hey does anyone know what hotel the shuttle leaves from for the 5pm session? Once the ticket purchase was complete, it won't let you pull up the info again..

I don't think I'll be able to host a share, but I'm definitely down to bring a few choice bottles.

We could set something up at the Portland harbor hotel.

Going to the 5-8 session, very excited. It does seem shameful that people are selling or trading these and making a profit. Would love to see at least a matching donation to Full Plates Full Potential from those getting something out of this.

I posted an ISO offering face value + a donation and got crickets before it was deleted. Everyone wants whales for the privilege of buying tickets. No one had to do any work to get tickets; getting lucky and having your email picked shouldn't entitle you to rake other BAs over the coals for the privilege of purchasing tickets to a charity event! I would have thrown a nice sour or two toward anyone who offered to sell me tickets, but instead I got response like "One guy is offering an Ann" or "I have a lot of responses to wade through" (i.e. make me a better offer).

Suffice to say my experience trying to buy tickets to this has soured me on going...

Maybe we can move this thread towards the positive. Anyone want to speculate or drop a wish list as to the other beers that will be pouring?

Id imagine RR will toss out a couple sours and maybe throw a curveball in there. My guesses: Supplication, Beat, and Pliny.

Allagash, I'd expect some coolship love and maybe something a tiny bit more obscure. Guesses: Red, Resurgam, and Mattina or PYO.

Cantillon is tough so I'll just throw out my prediction: Classic, Fou, and an unblended.

Not that they'll be the same, and it is a much larger list but here's what each brewery had at the event at Cantillon last May:

    • Allagash
    • Allagash White
    • Allagash Curieux
    • Allagash Midnight Brett
    • Allagash Resurgam
    • Allagash Coolship
    • Russian River
    • Pliny the Elder
    • Shadow of a Doubt
    • Sanctification
    • Supplication
    • Beatification
    • Cantillon
    • Lambic 2013
    • Grand Cru Bruocsella 2010
    • Gueuze 2013
    • Gueuze 2002
    • Kriek
    • Lou Pepe Kriek 2011
    • Rosé de Gambrinus
    • Fou'foune
    • Vigneronne
    • Saint-Lamvinus
    • Iris
    • Cuvée Saint-Gilloise
    • Zwanze 2012 (Rhubarbe)
    • Lambic de Haute Densité
    • Wild Friendship Blend (a blend of our spontaneous fermentation beers, 1/3 Russian River, 1/3 Allagash, 1/3 Cantillon)
Wonder if Allagash "Coolship" was actually Goulship lost in translation?

The invitation says "Attendees will also sample 3 additional rare beers from each brewery."

I have to think that rare is something beyond say Supplication/Curieux/Iris etc. which, while delicious, are all effectively "shelf" beers as these breweries go. Maybe that's just my optimism speaking

Hopefully RR and Allagash's line up was average because they didn't want to one-up their host. I seriously dont care to drink 4oz samples of white, curieux, Pliny etc

Rare is relative. RR doesn't distribute anything to the area, so anything they have is rare in this scenario. Cantillon shelf beers are still scant and move fast. I would imagine the term rare to fit there too. I wouldn't set hopes silly high for what 'rare' is honestly.

True. But at $100 a ticket I would be a little bummed to get what I initially mentioned. Maybe stuff along the lines of Beat and Mamouche (stuff that I would sort of consider rare-ish but not at the FFAC or Blaeber level obviously).

Either way, it's going to a good cause and should be a fun time.
