Will it age gracefully? Or is it too low abv?

Welcome to the site. Lots of great resources here, including a cellaring forum where they'll have the answer to your question.

Never tried it but my guess is that it is waaaaaay too low in ABV to age well.

    Drink it now.

...or you could always answer for him.

OP, Velvet Merlin ages into a semi-metalic Porter. I suggest drinking it fresh.

Will only age well in my basement. Please send your inventory by the end of this week. Will return when aging process is complete.

Well, since I have no idea of how it ages, never having had it or even seen it, that would be a bit hard/misleading. BTW, when I made that reply this thread was a first time post by a brand new member and in the general beer talk forum rather than here. So perhaps you have a better idea about how to respond instead of a welcome and a pointer to where help answering the question can be found?

Ive aged several vintages, and it just ends up being cooked with. Its much better within 6 months of bottling.

I had a 2014 a couple weeks ago, honestly, prefer it fresh.
