    First time...

It has 4 dregs from SN Kellerweis and a dreg from a 16 oz of Weihenshephaner. I started it about 7 days ago... probably a few more than that.

I first added 2 dregs and 200ml water with apprx 20g of wheat DME. There was action. A couple days later I added 1 dreg with 400ml water with 40g of wheat DME. The next couple of days I added the rest of the dregs. 2 days ago I poured out porbably 100ml off the top and replaced with a fresh 100 ml water with about 20g of wheat DME.

I have not observed action or krusan for 4 days. When I shake it, I can tell there is light pressure in there.

So... WILL IT BE SUFFICIENT FOR 5 GALLONS?

I don't understand why you didn't put all your yeast samples together and start stepping up from there. The way you did it, I wouldn't have a clue how to estimate what you ended up with, but my sense is that it's not a lot. How dense does it look?

In future do all your dregs together. I have just started to culture from dregs, and all I have read advises this.

You state you are adding "water and DME" . . . are you making wort (boiling & cooling before adding) or is this added raw?

I am going to guess he added them as he drank them. But I agree with you.

OP I probably would not use this just yet. Cold crash what you have then pitch the cake into an appropriately sized starter for what you are brewing.

    Good luck.

Welp. I pitched what I had. the whole thing. also pitched a full pack of Safbrew S-33. My fermentation was strong after a couple hours, and now I have a blow out.

A suggestion, don't drain pour your attempt just yet, 'cause you never know what might happen. If it stays flat, then you and the Mesopotamians (and me) have one thing in common . . . we all failed on our first attempt.

But re-trying with a six'er of Weihenstephaner is hardly considered bad duty.
