Will the bitterness settle down after secondary fermentation?

So I have my first batch fermenting. I transferred it to a glass carboy for secondary fermenting. It has been a little over a week and needs at least 2 more weeks. I tasted it just to see what it was like and the hops flavor is very crude and strong. Will the bitter hops settle down over the next two weeks, or is that close to what I will get in the end?

It is entirely possible that over a few weeks the hop flavors will 'meld' and potentially be more pleasing to you.

Bitterness (as in IBU bitterness) does fade over time but that timeframe is months vs. weeks.

    Cheers!

Thank you for the quick reply. I am rather excited to play around with recipes. This one is an Irish stout so I was going for thick and coffee. I only have one keg, so I guess this one is going to sit for a while. This one should turn out an IBU of 35-38, but I don't know what to reference it to. I will do some research.

Hoppy beers always taste very bitter, almost astringent, to me out of the primary, but it's amazing the "rounding off" that will happen after a couple weeks in the keg or bottle. Relax don't worry etc.
