I had a bunch of hops sitting around so I just threw them together this weekend. The boil for a single gallon... 60min 0.1oz Warrior 10min 0.1oz El Dorado & 0.1oz Nelson 5min 0.1oz Galaxy & 0.1oz Amarillo ...predictions?
.5 oz of hops doesn't sound like a bunch too me. Those are good hops so not sure why it would turn out terrible.
i put no consideration to how things pair. certain hops more complimentary to others, right? if grain bill is needed... 2.25lb 2 Row .24lb Victory and i mashed close to 145°F and pitched US-05 around 65°F.
I've found that very few hop combos are truly unpleasant; yes you can combine and get less than desireable results, but I think people make too much fuss over it. For sure you get better flavors by combining certain hope with one another; no doubt. But a "bad beer" purely from a hop combo is not very common in my experience. I've combo'd all sorts of stuff and only had 2 that rubbed me the wrong way; they weren't "bad" just not something I'd do again. My wife liked them though, so it does come down to more of an individual's specific palate in my opinion. I think you'll be fine. Check back and let us know.
Warrior did the trick bittering-wise, but I should've picked one hop to go heavier on. Nelson's the only one I can't pick out.
