Willettized Coffee Stout 6 packs

Yeah that's what I was expecting, but it sounds like it hit Pennsylvania and Maryland today from our friends in the beer releases thread, so that means it probably skipped us

 

Hitting the Detroit area now.

 

I'll believe it when I see it. In South Lyon, my local - who is a pretty reputable seller - said as of today that his rep knows nothing of getting any.

 

We got it delivered last night. Tell your guy his Imperial rep sucks.

 

I only managed one bottle in GR on Tuesday. Store had them behind the counter with a 1 bottle limit.

 

Allocations on this are wacky. I got twice as much this week than I did last week. Usually it goes the other way around. I'm also under the impression that less Willetized came to Michigan than did High Westified, but I can't recall the amount of HW.

 

Most places around southeast MI have received their shipment this week. Most are 1 bottle limit, also sell out that day. Found a spot in Berkley that has 6ers for 12.99. None the wiser.

 

Grabbed a 6-pack in East Lansing today. With all of the recent high-dollar releases, felt odd to buy a $10.99 6-pack, but not complaining!

 

Has anyone seen this one the west side of michigan anywhere?

 

It came and went in the kalamazoo area, most places limited it to 2 bottles max per person.

 

Anyone see it around Waterford area?

There’s a bit over a case of willetized on the floor at binnys grand for those interested. Limit 1pp. Would have grabbed two otherwise.

Whole Foods on kingsbury has 6ers. On sale.

 

Finally cracked one today. Nicely balanced notes of dark roast coffee, chocolate syrup, faint pepper heat & burnt caramel (likely from the booze barrels).

Both High Westified & Willettized will never be my favorite barrel aged stouts, since I find the base beer not quite up to snuff, but for the budget minded you could do a lot worse. Good, not great.

 

I'd agree that these will never be my favorite, but I wonder about saying that you could do a lot worse for the budget. I'd turn that around and ask - what can you do better at that budget of $13-14 for a 6 pack of 12 ounce BA stouts? Just curious if people think there is anything better (or if anything else is even possible) at that price point.
