Willettized Coffee Stout 6 packs

Nothing comes to mind personally, although many on here love Drago, which I think falls into that price range. Personally, I don't care for that one.

Really, the next echelon to me is the $7-$10 single bottle (Odd Side stuff like Rye Hipster Brunch, Prairie upper end stuff like Bourbon Paradise, etc).

For me, drinking delicious BA stouts is NOT an exercise in budget control...you usually get what you pay for. Now, there's plenty of BAD stuff in that price range too (looking at you, Dragon's Milk variants), so there are pitfalls galore.

 

I agree with your last paragraph especially. I generally think of these as a luxury-type item (at least in the beer sense), so I'd prefer to pay a bit more to get a better experience. It's a very similar thought process I've gone through with wine.

I like Drago, but it's price point is over double Willettized. I believe Drago goes for $20 for a 4-pack, so that is around $5 for a 12 ounce bottle as compared to about $2.33 for Willettized. I don't think there is another BA stout that touches that. It is a good "budget" beer to have around, but I won't go nuts buying it.

 

I do like Willittized not only because of the favorable price point but because it's a great combination of price point, flavor AND format. I can pop one open on a nightly basis without concern of getting drunk, enjoying great flavor and also not worry about picking some special occasion to drink it because it's such a great price point and not extremely rare. I like it for exactly what it is. Thanks for snagging some for me last time.
