    Hey All,

I was just hoping to get a little bit of info on this beer. How quickly does it sell out? When is it released? Is it a one day release? Cost? Bottle count? What have people traded for it?

I did a trade a little while ago for a bottle and it simply blew my mind. Was hoping to trade some Berserker/CL Sours/BCBCS for some more.

    Thanks.

Not sure of bottle limits but it goes out into distro and stays around for a week or two. Price is generally in the $10-ish range. I can't recall what I've traded it for in the past but like you said it's a damn good brew (fresh, don't age it). All of the brews you mentioned should easily get some.

It came out last in January of this year, but if my memory serves me correctly, this beer doesn't necessarily get regularly released at any particular time of year, but seemingly at random.

January sounds about right for last year, it was November the year before that. Don't bother posting on their forum or emailing them, I did both last year and got no responses. I think I even called in and got a non-answer. This might be my favorite non-hyped beer so keep it down up there, and get off my lawn.

Any idea how far south in VA this one gets? Danville is only just over an hour away from me, so it might just be easier to take about 3 hours and ~$13 of gas to grab a few when it comes out.

according to the latest info I saw from their brewer (about a month or so ago) it should come out in jan 2013 along with a new batch of BB Porter. the last batch came out in dec 2011 and the year before that in nov 2010. it should be about $10 or so with availability at brewery much longer than at shops, depending on location of course. I know in Richmond we're lucky if it's around for 2-3 days but we get shit from their distributor on the bombers so I usually go to the brewery direct.
they used to distribute as far south as SC and up to Philly but I think that may have changed a bit this year (on the SC end)... not positive on that.

We received this and the BA Porter previously in Philly so I'm expecting/hoping to see it again. The bottles usually last for a week or so depending on the shop and how they decided to price it ($12ish here).

on Nov 14 they responded on facebook saying "hopefully by the end of the month" but there hasnt been anymore info to my knowledge: http://www.facebook.com/AleWerks/po...comment_id=24082338&offset=0&total_comments=6

the girl who runs their facebook page is kind of a bit clueless (she's the same one who runs the blog/forums on their webpage...)
Geoff, the brewer, usually tweets out good info albeit sporadically.

Thanks for the info all. I've been contacted by a couple of interested parties. I might still have to keep an eye out and go to the source to get enough to satisfy my craving though!

You really shouldnt have difficulty getting as much as you want of the stuff with the beers you are offering. I love Cafe Royale, but Berseker and BCBCS are two of my favorite stouts, which Im sure is the case with many others on here. Also, if you make the trip to Williamsburg, the brewery shop is tiny, but usually holds onto the specialty offerings for a good bit of time longer than retail stores. Happy hunting!

I heard that maybe by the end of next week Cafe Royale is going to be released. And sometime soon thereafter (a few weeks) that the Bourbon Barrel Porter is going to be released. I know I'm getting a case of each - love 'em!

Although, Alewerks is definitely not afraid to push it back a bit if they don't think the beer is ready, so this is all subject to change.
