Hey all, so I have a work friend that's taking a snowboarding trip to the Wilmington, VT area this weekend and he asked if there is anything I'd like him to pick up. I perused the distro channels for the well known options (HF, Lawson's, Alchemist, Fiddlehead) and realize that I'm out of luck there, but is there anything else that I should ask him to look for that he can get at the local bottle shops?

    Thanks!

So he's going to Mt Snow... Not much in that area, I was just there last weekend. Have him bring you some Zero Gravity Cone Head IPA. Good stuff, if not mind blowing. Tap choices are better (Fiddlehead), but you can't bring those home.

Thanks for the overview, much appreciated! I'll have him grab a few cans of the Cone Head if he happens upon them.

Pick up some Hermit Thrush stuff also. Cans available at a bunch of areas.

Ratu's in Wilmington usually has cans of Hermit Thrush, Burlington Beer Co., 14th Star, and Zero Gravity. Also a good shop in Bennington if your buddy is coming up that way.

Beat me to it! Great offerings for sure! If not hop down to Brattleboro for a trip to the Co-op or actually Grafton Cheese has a ton of great VT beer as well, plus amazing cheese. What's not to like?

Didn't know Grafton Cheese had beer. Nice!

I didn't know they had a spot in Brattleboro! Damn, would have totally made a stop had I known, despite the beer.

Yep - next to the Retreat farm - nice for families. There's also Saxtons River Distillery nearby. They make a maple liqueur (Sapling) and a maple bourbon and maple rye. I believe Lawsons uses their barrels.

Thanks a lot everyone. I've passed along the four breweries mentioned and hopefully I can report back with some thoughts!

I strongly second the recommendation for 14th star Brewery, but I would say that Tribute, their DIPA, is the one you should focus on since it's outstanding. Their other canned beers are fine but probably not worth taking up space on a cross country haul.

Idyl Tyme and Double Tyme DIPAs (by Idyl Tyme brewery) are worth hauling back as well.

A bit out of the way, but the Tap Room at Catamount Glass in Bennington has a nice selection of IPA's on tap and are nice people.
