We are doing down for my BDAY this weekend, going to skip the beer fest this year. I've been to wilm brewery, ironclad, good hops and fly trap, any other cool spots to go to down there? Bars, restaurants with taps, or breweries ?

Bomber's Bev Co: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/37879/ It's a bottle shop/bar with about 10 taps, they have a little beer alley and do crowlers of most of what they have on tap. Jax 5th Avenue Deli: https://www.facebook.com/JaxFifthAveDeliAleHouse A bar that tends to surprise me with their selection and the few times I've eaten there the food has been really good! Other than that there is Fermental in Ogden (shop with 3 taps), Lighthouse Beer and Wine in Wrightsville Beach (shop with 10 taps and beer garden), Hey Beer (shop with 4 taps but no onsite consumption, growlers only), I've heard good things about Beer Bario: https://www.facebook.com/BeerBarrio?fref=ts but have yet to check them out. HeyBeer is a great bottle shop and the owner is really cool. Definitely check out Wilmington Brewing company which is a minute away. They make the best beer in Wilmington by far
Cape Fear Wine & Beer has a great selection of draft and bottles. Atmosphere isn't for everyone, imho.
If you'll be downtown, I would highly suggest you grab a birthday beer at Satellite. Especially since the weather will be nice, it's one of my favorite spots to grab a beer outside. We ended up going to jaxs 5th, wilming brewery, copper penny, satelitte, light house, . Enjoyed all those places. Wilmington and lighthouse had Excellent beers on. Been to wilmington brewery a fee times now, by far best beers around. Ipa's are up there with the elite .
