So what should I expect from a red wine barrel aged stout if I keep the bottle for a while? What flavors will tend to take a backseat, what flavors will develop?

My only experience with wine barrel is Heavy Seas's Cabernet Below Decks, an English barleywinre. The Cabernet falls off pretty quickly, with little to no notes at all by 6 months. The Bourbon version though holds well for up to 2 years.
