What are your favorite Wine Barrel Stouts, and where do they come from? (Pictures would also be nice)

I've always wanted to try the wine barrel noir. The vanilla was pretty darn good too.

Anchorage Darkest Hour is pretty incredible. Lots going on, extremely complex, but it hangs together beautifully and is a joy to drink. Very impressive.

Midnight Sun berserker is another great one, pretty similar to the Anchorage beer. The Moa beer is good but a definite step down from those. As is Red Thunder, which I found to be too dry and tannic, and Stoudt's Winey Dog or whatever that one's called. I'm sure there are many others I'm not thinking of right now. Tired Hands has done at least one but good luck getting a bottle of that.

As mentioned already, Darkest Hour is the king of wine barrel aged stouts, although the wine barrels also share some glory with rye whiskey barrels.

Probably my favorite beer from Anchorage. If this thread could have a winner, it would be that one.

Double Barrel Damon is aged in port (and bourbon) barrels, and is godly. The regular Port Damon is supposed to be really good, as well.

all things considered, they have one of the best sour programs and are reasonably priced considering you get a 750ML. BM me if you want trade.
