Why not get a decent looking fridge? I would be afraid of light exposure with glass door. You want zero light hitting those bottles..

Its going to be in a dark room in the house and even though its already got some protection on the glass...I would probably tint it.

Also I believe these are better if you want to keep temps at like steady 50 and lower energy.

Yes, yes, yes. More people who "cellar" beer need to go this route. And not knocking your specific choice - it looks like a great unit - but for those on a budget, an adequate one can be bought at a fraction of that price.

So many folks sweating details on cellaring, and this is such a simple answer in a lot of cases.

@grumpy you mind posting examples of like coolers at a better price? I'm just curious, I've looked and can't seem to find anything near that size for much less.

I've researched this a while ago, but the last I read, these are not good to use. The consensus was that aging beers on its side is not the same as wine. It could have more of an adverse effect. Something about the surface ratio of the yeast to the beer. I'm not sure if I believe it, but if you're thinking of this type of investment, why risk it? Anyone have any new news on this topic?

I've always thought you want to keep the bottles upright to avoid potential rusting of the caps, but I've also heard the same thing about the yeast. More surface area for the yeast to to on the side of the bottle and impact the taste in the long run.

Yes the shelf's to be adjusted and can fit multiple racks of 750ms with quiet a few bottles per shelf. If anyone else has similar large cabinet models that are cheaper please share. Thanks

I keep some of my more precious beers in a wine fridge (a Eurocave). I have set a couple shelves at distances suitable for upright bottles while leaving the rest of it for wine stored on their sides. The only thing I would note on what is shown in those picutres is that you will need to either use different shelving or else modify those shelves as they appear to be designed solely for bottles to be on their sides. I would not worry about the glass door, but you might be able to get a solid doors as an option.
