This article looks at the margins some restaurants make on their wines. Beer is generally less expensive, and I don't what restaurants and bars need for margins, but with the rising popularity of quality beer, and with even some fine dining restaurants starting to amass bigger cellars, will we start seeing these types of prices for beers in the near future? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324520904578551532766601460.html

On some of the rarer stuff, you're already seeing it. Bottles of year old KBS for $30 and $20 for an ounce pour of Utopia.

At the liquor store I work beer is marked up cheaper but has no discount, while wine has a discount bringing it under the beer markup. I've been working on setting up a 6 bottle bomber discount but hasn't happened yet.
