So True! I have a case of Wyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin Ale which has been sitting in the basement since August 1st due to the fact that I know if I try to buy it in October none will be left on the shelves.

Other than the winter seasonals serve as a reminder to get your butt moving and buy my Christmas present (or at least a present for someone important to you.)

It won't be long...I think it hits shelves around end of October, beginning of November. So realistically it's only a few weeks away!

Hell yes! Screw these pumpkin/Octoberfest beers, fall is my least favorite beer season. Bring on St. Bernardus Chrismas Ale and all those other great spicy, malty, boozey beers.

I won't buy it. I'm too full on addicted to Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale right now.

Plus, I can drink about 25,000 gallons of German Oktoberfests and I have not yet begun to deifle myself.

valiantly staying away from october fest beers at the moment, only to thoroughly enjoy them more so in october.... I am a firm believer in drinking and eating according to the season... (or month) in this particular discussion. that being said, i'm really excited for winter...

Funny thing is that all the Christmas ales in Belgium are already in the bottle. All of the ones I buy every year have best by dates in mid August.

I'm drinking it right now, and I'm loving it.

But really, if it didn't have a winter themed label and name, would people be bitching as much right now? I mean, sure it's a "winter warmer", but as far as I'm concerned, that's nothing more than just a malt forward ale.

Fall is my favorite season for beer. This is probably largely due to the fact that I love fall, though. I love Oktoberfest/Märzens and Pumpkin Ales. I wouldn't have a problem with seasonal beers coming out 'early' at all....other than the fact that sometimes I feel they are better fresh. And I don't want to drink a pumpkin ale when it's 100 degrees outside and humid. But....there are worse problems to have than Fall beers coming out in Summer, so I'll drink it and count myself lucky

Personally, I don't care what season it is, and will drink most beers regardless of season, granted this is Louisiana. That said, I don't mind an Imperial Stout on a summer night.

I prefer to breakdown my beers in AM/PM terms as apposed to seasons.

Is it just because of the style that people care about "winter" beers coming out early? What if SN Celebration came out now? I have a feeling people have a sensory bias against fall/winter spices. Label Celebration with a "summery" name/artwork and I doubt anyone would care.

According to www.google.com Oktoberfest in Germany 2013 begins on Saturday, September 21 and ends on Sunday, October 6.

    So there's that.
