'Cold Weather, Seasonal Style' means so much for so many people. As for me in the Mid-Atlantic region, cold weather encompasses everything from Pumpkin beers in the fall to Barleywines, Imperial Stouts and Quads in the winter months. I voted per the word 'seasonal' and find Pumpkin beers to be my most anticipated...but IMHO should be consumed on or before Thanksgiving. Speaking of Quads, I almost fell over today when I saw Troegs' 'The Mad Elf Ale' on the shelves today. Yes, I did succumb to temptation and purchase a 6'er (and drink one this evening), but my gosh, we are still two weeks from November! Since I mostly prefer my beers fresh (i.e. regardless of style and within 120 days of packaging), the potpourri of chocolate, dark fruit and banana that makes 'The Mad Elf' so unique pops with delight...Cheers to an early happy-holidays wish to all fellow BA members!

I'm nowhere near ready for "colder weather" style yet, but when I am, I often prefer Belgian Strong Dark Ales.
