Hmmm. Alaskan's Spruce Tip IPA is straight up amazing, so I'm no longer upset. Spruce tips are a one-way ticket to a beer tasting like candy, so that might work out just fine.

Plus they use spruce tips in their Winter Ale, which I also like.

All this talk of winter warmers makes me curious. I LOVE Hibernation, but the last time I had either Isolation or Old Jub was probably about 4 years ago, and I didn't particularly enjoy either one that much.

For those who drink those two, has the recipe generally been stable or have you noticed any changes over the last several years? Even though Hibernation ticks all the boxes for me, I might want to revisit the Odell and Avery options this winter.

@Spaceman_Jer. My experience with Isolation is that its the same today as it has pretty much always been.

Old Jubilation has arrived... Went looking for hibernation today and found it. Thanks for all the extra recommendations!

Winter Warlock is an Oatmeal Stout... and a forgettably mediocre one at that

    That’s Like Your Opinion, Man.
I’ve had Winter Warlock in years past and remember liking it quite a bit.

Quality notwithstanding, it's still not a Winter Warmer

I love to stock up on Celebration, GD Hibernation, Anchors Christmas ale and Brooklyn’s BCS. Every spring I pick up a bottle of Great Divides Yeti to age till the biggest snow storm of the year and enjoy it while watching the snow fall. It’s the best.

This is True. I was thinking more generally as far as Winter Warmers, not the limited BA description/style.
