I have a friend coming to Madison from NC. What shelf brews do you all recommend he bring back? NG and central waters I assume but anything else in particular? Anything in specific to NG or CW? I assume the blackberry is out of the question. Any style will work. Thanks for the help. Salud!

Central Waters Barrel Aged Scotch Ale is out. that's tasty. should be some BB Stout, BB Barleywine and Coffeehouse Stout around Madison.

New Glarus Berliner Weiss was at Riley's on Sunday. saw some Wild Sour and even Apple Ale there also.

NG Strawberry Rhubarb and Serendipity should be plentiful.

Any Clue if your statement would be the same in and around Milwaukee? Going there end of the month

NG Blackberry is gone (and was only available at the brewery anyways)
NG Wild Sour is essentially gone. Have him call around as to not waste time driving and looking.
NG Berliner Weiss was still in a few places, as was their IIPA
NG Fruits should be easy to find. Star Liquor in MSN had very good supply of both on Monday.

Apple Ale? Do you know if it is last year's? (Not as though that would matter - I've found that it holds up fine after a year.)

Ale Asylum Bedlam is a good Belgian IPA, if he likes those.

I don't recall any from this year (or even late last year for that matter). Rileys brings out "cellar" stuff around festivals so I'm assuming Apple Pie is back in the cellar if they had any left.

I haven't seen BB Barleywine in a while in Madison (I wouldn't mind getting another 4 pack). BB Stout should still be easy to get and Coffeehouse a little harder. I really like NG Staghorn (even though it's a little early ).

Madison has a ton of great places, stop in at vintage and grab a growler or two, local stores may have redeye brewing stuff from Wausau, thrush and scarlet 7 are great. Eternal flame from capital brewing is underrated IMO, bombers are cheap.

Sorry for the semi-threadjack, but I have a similar question and don't think an additional thread would be useful.

I am heading up from Chicago this weekend for the Madison Mini and need a good bottleshop/liquor store with a mix-a-six option and (if possible) some NG fruits in stock. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

NG Fruits are easy to find - Star, Jennifer St, Woodmans. Probably Trixies and Reilly
