I'm thinking about heading from Minneapolis to Wausau or maybe farther south the weekend of 1/20/17. Looking for bock or dopplebocks. I was To Eau Claire last weekend picked up some Lazy Monk smoked bock, It sounds like Lazy monk will not make Dopplebock this year. Point Bock didn't make it to Eau Claire by last weekend. Never had any Great Dane bocks, are they any good? Bull Falls Bock is not out yet. Are there any other bocks out yet?

I don’t pretend to know how vast their distribution footprint is, but Capital makes
    Some really solid bocks.

The unfortunate think is that it is an underappreciated style, domestically speaking. Not enough are made.

    Seconded. Seek out Autumnal Fire.

Unfortunately, as per the BA page, Autumnal_Fire is only a fall beer. Which has been my experience the few time I've been lucky enough to get it. It's a rock-solid recommendation by @whatruDOINdragic. However, I think that any that you find on the shelf by now could be a bit past their prime.

Capital does need to get back to their bocks/doppelbocks, because most of their other stuff is below average.

Bockfest is going to be February 25th this year, so you'll be a few weeks ahead of Maibock and Blonde Doppelbock unfortunately.

I’ve never seen anything against aging them. It’s obviously not like an IPA. I do believe the general rule for aging is that the beer should have an 8.5%abv or higher.

New Glarus Cabin Fever is out now, it's not huge like a dopplebock, but I really like it.

Cabin Fever is good but it's kind of a Mild Mai Bock with a touch of honey added. I had it on tap last weekend.

This one was good but I think it's gone (Out of production) for now. I had it back in December:Oliphant Xuul Doppelbock Lager

Yoerg Bock will be out next month (maybe). I am not sure if some of it will be brewed in Wisconsin under contract or not?????

I'm not sure how far north this will be distributed, but it may be worth keeping an eye out for it.

Lakefront Maibock has hit a few stores here in the Twin Cities. Capital released the Dark Dopplebock a little later this year it seems like maybe not till mid December??? I haven't given up on getting some.
The Next Door Bock looks interesting, but I hardly doubt i will find it unless I drive to Mad town. I see Vintage in Madison has 30 Point Bock on tap.
