a pal of mine is going to be in Madison for the weekend. What are the popular Wisconsin IPAs or stouts he should try to pick up?
For hoppy stuff I'd suggest New Glarus Moon Man and Scream, Black Husky Sproose Joose (or whatever their spruce DIPA is named), and any available hops from Toppling Goliath.
As far as stouts go, tell him to keep an eye out for Surly Darkness, lingering in out of the way places. One of the best non-barrel aged stouts in the country, as far as I'm concerned.
