Well, it's been a cold and rainy start to Spring in good ol' Wisconsin, where we've been stuck in limbo between the bitter cold and Summer heat. I've got my go-to's for Winter, Fall and Summer drinking, and I've been trying to determine a good session beer for this lousy rainy weather, but to no avail.

    Any suggestions?

I really like Swing from Victory, but I've seen some mixed reviews overall.

Ummm, doesn't your avatar say it all? (p.s., I'm assuming you're not going by the proper meaning of 'session' i.e. <4%)

from WI you should be able to get FFF Gumballhead < 5% or get some Founders All Day IPA

Haven't tried the All Day IPA yet, thanks for the tip.

Good catch, herrburgess, I should have clarified! My typical session is < 6% (my home-state has a drinking problem, what are you gonna do?) So you would be correct in that my definition is off .

As for my avatar, Augustiner (while my favorite beer of all time), is hard to come by, and quite pricey. Not a very practical go-to for an everyday beer.

NG Totally Naked. The amount of flavor in that light lager is awesome. Now that is /thread.

Lakefront's Wisconsinite is a tasty session brew. NG Edel Pils as mentioned previously is damn good too.

Yes this--just had it for the first time today--smells quite Zombie Dust-y. Not a fan of "session" beers, but this blows Wisconsinite, etc out of the water

I think he meant stuff he can actually get in Wisconsin.

All good stuff, thank you fellow members! I'm surprised that I haven't tried/heard of the NG Edel Pils or Lakefront Wisconsinite. I thought I was pretty well-versed in their selections, but I guess you learn something new everyday. Prost!

Your in WI and asking about session beers? Half or more of New Glarus's beers are session (ish) beers. Drive to closest gas station and pick from any of the NG beers and they are most likely < 5%. Cheers.

Even though they have been mentioned already I'll throw my votes behind pretty much everything New Glarus puts out. Totally Naked and Edel Pils are both excellent choices and you can of course get them pretty much anywhere here.

As mentioned I'd give all day ipa and gumballhead a try. I also like pride and joy (@5%) and chainbreaker white ipa (@5.6%?) If you can find those.
