Going to be heading up to CW for the Black Gold bottle pickup next Saturday. Anyone have some brewery recommendations on places that we shouldn't miss on our way up/down? Places that may have some BA bottles in the shop, or a decent bite to eat and a couple good pours? Thanks in advance.

O'so in Plover for more beer.
    Ruby Coffee Roasters in Amherst.
Food wise haven't found much to be excited about. Usual fast food in Plover, Culver's, KFC, Subway etc.
With covid not sure what's open for dine in and what's drive through only right now, for any of these places.

Also looking for 1 more ticket for my group if anyone has one available pm me. Thanks

Weather forecast is looking really nice, so eating outdoors at a brewpub or good taphouse with decent bar food would be cool. Supposed to be like 66 and sunny as of now. Would be a crazy flip from BG day last year, where it snowed on us during the fest, and was like 35 degrees. Lol.

It also depends on your route if you're heading up via Madison or Milwaukee.

Edit: 3 Sheeps is 2 hours out of your way if coming up 94 to 41.

Yeah, not sure which route we're going to take, 90 to 39, or up 94 to 41. Need to talk to the driver and the other couple guys we're going with. I'm guessing we'll go 90 to 39. That's the way we took last year, IIRC.

I saw a few of the BA bottles on there, but they weren't listed under bottles/cans to go so I wasn't sure if they were just for on-site consumption or what. Thanks for the info. Appreciate it. Dunno if we'll make it there since it's right up along the lake. Seems a little out of our way, either route we take.

Looking like we'll be running down 90, and then up 39, so any recommendations between Chicago and Madison, and then Madison and Amherst, not too far off the beaten path, preferably. I'd say anything really within about 20-30 mins of the highway, or must-hit places in/around Madison.

Funk Factory is about 10 minutes west on the belt line (12/18).

Octopi for beer that's not beer.
J Henry for extremely good bourbon.

They would be available to go. There would also be some of there regular beers that are not listed as to go in a cooler next to the bar. Understand it may be out of your way

I definitely appreciate the info, whether we make it up that way or not. Thanks.

Eagle Park has a fairly new taproom in Muskego, WI. Shouldn't be to far out of your way once you leave the IL border and enter Wisconsin. Totally recommend a stop. Great beer + great eats. Cheers and safe travels

Definitely outside of his 20 - 30 minute travel time unfortunately.

We may make a further stop, if it's worth it. I'm just now starting to do some research for us, and nothing has been decided on yet. We don't even know what time we're leaving, yet. Just know that we have to make it to Amherst between 10am and 4pm.

There just isn't much on the 90 route until you get to Madison. There's a brewery in Janesville but I don't know much about it. Then sO'so brewing in Plover. It would almost be better to head up 94 and hit Eagle Park/1840/Third Space/Good City/the list goes on and on...

There is also the question of what time places open unless you are planning to stay overnight somewhere

Checked w the boy-head of brewing, today. Bottles and cans are only to go. Not for on site consumption. Evidently that requires a separate license.
