So my sister is going to Lancaster, Wisconsin tomorrow for a long weekend. Any recommendations on places to visit besides New Glarus and Central Waters? Just as important, what do I ask her to bring back for me in bottles? Thanks!
New Glarus : raspberry tart 4 packs, enigma 4 pack, spotted cow, Berliner weisse 4 pack. Central waters: caught in the rain bomber, coffee stout bomber, anything barrel aged If going through Milwaukee stop at 3rd space and growler up unbridled enthusiasm Toppling Goliath: sosus, hopsmack, and if you're lucky king sue 3 sheeps: fresh coast is the best session IPA I've had and can probably find Uber Joe. Again if going through Milwaukee discount liquor is probably the best liquor store.
Oooh. I hadn't thought of Toppling Goliath! Is there anything of note in Madison? Thanks for the suggestions!
In Madison area you should try City View Liquors, Trixie's, or the either of the Woodman's grocery stores. The Woodman's in Sun Prairie has the best prices in the city. Only get the bomber format of TG though as the cans are sub par comparably. Also, a brewery in Madison that has been killing it lately is Untitled Art. They mostly do collaborations with some of the best breweries in the country. The newest is Oaxacan Stout (think mexican cake or poor mans abraxas) It is a collab with 3 sons.
Milwaukee Brewing, aka, MKE, makes a LOT of solid beers. Hard to go wrong with anything they make. Their seasonal blueberry amber, Weekend at Louie's, is really good.
Dare Mighty Things Citra. It's fantastic! Tyranena also has Carnal Knowledge In The Morn 4pks for sale in the tasting room.
