Sorry...very dumb question so this thread can be deleted once I know....Witch's Hat in South Lyon, MI...have they ever bottled any of there beers?? The reason I ask is bc I am still dreaming of the Night Fury variants I had at the MBG Winter Fest. I assume these were/will never be bottled. But wondering if I can get my hands on any of their other stuff. I'm assuming growler fills only??
Yes, but in tiny batches and mostly all are sold to mug clubbers. I've seen imperial stout, barleywine, dipa & xmas ale is all i've noticed. My fav southern MI by FAR!
The last release was two weeks ago. Vanilla Bean Night Fury bottles. Sold to mug clubbers, then the remaining bottles were sold the next day.
Yep, very limited...Only Night Fury bottles that have been released is the Vanilla Bean, which is awesome...Mug Clubbers were able to buy 4...They did go on sale to the general public the day after, but was sold out in 15 mins...If your looking for a bottle or two, hit me up..Ill trade you one or two for something depending on what ya got...I love spreading the witchs hat love around as they are one of my favorite breweries BTW: saw you asked about growlers..right now they have Train Hopper IPA : really good Big Doedish DIPA : really good Edwards Portly Brown : Really good ( I love browns ) Under the red light (amber lager): I dont really like reds..people say its good
I'm a big fan of witchs hat. I believe they just bought a bigger facility to brew more beer. I'm tired and possibly wrong on this. I'd like to do more with them once they're able to produce more beer. The brew pub was way smaller then I thought, which is fine. I just want food with my beer, my only complaint about that place & it's far lol.
Just want to vouch for tommyz as a trader. He helped me get two WH bottles along with some other stuff. Fantastic guy to trade with. And tommyz, if you ever have WH bottles that are taking up too much space in your cellar, my BM box is always open.
The new place is at the corner of Dorothy and S. Lafayette, you can see the Witches Hat Train Station from the parking lot. They have been posting pictures of the interior demo/construction on the facebook page.
Wrong place..their place is the old curves building on pontiac trail...that tiny place is another brewery that is coming..
No, drove by there last week. It is as I said. You don't realize that Pontiac Trail changes names to Lafayette in S. Lyon a little north of where the old brewery is. https://www.google.com/maps/@42.4544885,-83.6511352,18z The second brewery will be at Lafayette and Liberty. If they name any of the beers after the second street...
Very good info, thanks everyone!! I should be making it up there this weekend to see what's on tap. tommyz - I would be very interested in working something out to try a Night Fury! Only problem, is my cellar is back home in Holland haha. But maybe we can still work something out for now/future
Been really wanting to try that Vanilla bean night fury. any chance its still on draft there? been wanting to check it out since WBF
no..Next time you will be able to have it is at the summer beer festival ( I think it will be there)..And their fury for a feast in august which a a Barrel Aged Blowout party..
There is a decent selection right now...Not as many as normal with a lot of time being spent on the new place..But the ones I posted above are on as well as Territorial Baltic Porter which is a collab with Liberty street, Voice of the Turtle session IPA, which I personally love, three cord Kolsh will be on I believe this weekend...Might be something else, but I dont remember the rest..
They have released Coffee Night Fury too along with a previous batch of vanilla and Fear of the Dark.
no doubt..was talking about this last release...They have also bottled Big Doedish, and Well Water (which is their holy confusion barleywine aged in a barrel)
They wont have food at the new place either...Its something they dont really want to get into...During the summer and fall they will have food trucks stop in, and you can always bring your own food..
