Who's used this and what was your experience? Planning on brewing an American style bock maybe Doppelbock. Wondering if this yeast is too clean. I have only used WL 830 German lager and I loved it but my LHBS only carries this lager yeast for now.

According to mrmalty that is the Bud yeast. It is known for apple esters. Not too clean.

Yea. I'm hoping that the beer doesn't taste like Budweiser. I'm not using adjuncts so hopefully the yeast allows the hops and malts to shine.

To re-enforce what Jeff (hopfenunmaltz) posted, the Budweiser yeast strain is known for producing an ester that tastes like green apples. If what you desire is a super clean/neutral lager strain then WLP840 (Wyeast 2007) is not an optimum choice.

    Cheers!
