I swear I'm the only person that has no luck with WLP007 creating clear beers. I love the yeast, but I've never had luck with the yeast clearing for me. I've brewed split batches with WLP090 in 1 fermentor and WLP007 in the other and the WLP090 comes out clear but the WLP007 is cloudy. Anyone else have this issue?

No, WLP007 has always cleared very quickly for me. You could try nottingham dry yeast in its place, as its a good alternative, and really nice for fermenting bigger beers with, as it ferments very clean and doesn't produce any fusels even if fermented pretty hot (found out during 2 heat waves).

Our WLP007 beers weren't clear, and came up short - tasted good but not as strong or clear as we wanted. Back to the US-05

The shit sits like a rock on the bottom of the yeast bottle and about impossible to get it into a true slurry for pitching. How could you have a flocculation problem?

Yeah, 007 is my go to yeast for crystal clear beer and high attenuation. I don't know what is going on for everybody else.

I also have not had any problems with WLP007. I love my malty ales!

Add me to the list of those that love this yeast (although, yes, it is hard to get out of the tube). No floculation problems here.

Never had a problem with WLP007 falling out of suspension, it forms a yeast cake for me that is just as compact as the cake formed in the tube it comes in.

If you're getting consistently cloudy beers with WLP007, it's not the yeast's fault. It's a pretty high floccer.

It truly is like a f*ing brick in a tube.

    Try S-04 instead of US-05

Like i said i've done batches multiple times that I've split the wort into 2 carboys and the 1with wlp090 comes out crystal clear and the 1 with wlp007 is lighter and cloudy. Any thoughts?

What style? What is the recipe? Is there a heavy dry hopping involved?

How long after attenuation is complete are you waiting before packaging?

I would try waiting longer. Gravity and time are our friends.

I'm cold crashing at 34 degrees so hopefully that'll speed things up. Beer taste great, just hate how cloudy it is.
