That's pretty amazing based on the all shitshow-y stuff I see about JW online.

One of my biggest concerns is that they mentioned that the 4.5% hazelnut stout, while good, may be one of the members bottles. No offense but... A 4.5% stout as a members bottle that is, essentially, $30? Um... Huh?
Now, that could be ok if they have a lot more members events, but as it stands it really made me go. Wha?

I think the member's bottle is going to be the white truffle version of that stout, which justifies the price a little more but I agree that an imperial version would make more sense. From one of the previous emails:

"we're scaling up a field beer we piloted for the Oregon Truffle Fest dinner, La Truffe, using whole, perfectly ripe Oregon white truffles and farm hazelnuts"

I don't mean to nitpick here, but how does a fungus become "whole, perfectly ripe?"

Speaking of which... Did you see any bottling equipment at the brewery? I did not.

Often, smaller breweries will just hand bottle. There's a gun that purges air with CO2, then pull the trigger and it fills the bottle. Hand cap, wax dip, and BOOM!, profit.

Yeah, I'm assuming hand bottle. I know cascade hand bottled a long long time, still might now.

A brewery here in town uses a mobile bottler for their flagships, and some seasonals, but for the higher abv/expensive to produce/limited stuff they still hand bottle. There's a lot of spillage and waste in the bottling process. Not sure what size system W&P has, but with their focus on specialty/limited stuff, they may be choosing to hand bottle, for right now anyway.

There was a bottler behind the brew kettles. It looked like it was hooked up? But it was sitting in a terrible location and not very functional.

Of course, that may or may not be around long enough to bottle up the first member beers. Unclear whether this is the unit or not. Or if they have a second I didn't see last Saturday. http://www.winebusiness.com/classifieds/usedequipment/?go=listing&listingid=115227

I hate to admit it... But you're right.

Thing is... It was sold to us as being - for lack of a better way to put this - the PNW answer to Jester King (a brewery whose beer we can't get here). At the time, they said the head brewer from Jester King was going to be the running the show at Wolves & People. That, as we know know, was not the case.

    Wait... Can it be?

Looks like they're actually bottling something [but not at their brewery]
"wolvesandpeople Bottling our collaboration with @commonsbrewery today! A wild farmhouse wit with dandelion root, honeysuckle, Douglas fir needles, Sebastian yeast... And nary a coriander seed nor orange peel in sight"

Of course... No mention of a release date.

You would think they would be rolling in the updates once they were officially up and running. So what, one beer brewed since getting the license?
