Oh, I'm well aware that places can choose to not allow minors. Not a problem.

I haven't been in the new place yet, but your post made me wonder what's going on in there. Kids being annoying/inconvenient I get. "Extremely weird/wrong" makes me feel like I'm missing something, or that maybe the term cheese window is really code for something else.

Went today and had a great time, thought it was a well ran opening, and super nice staff. All of the beers were solid and unique, but the highlight beer of the night for me was their Instinctive Traveler which was a dry hopped up saison with guava, melon and lime. I was also a big fan of the cinnamon and graham cracker strong ale as well. Excited for what they'll have to offer in the future, and will be back soon.

On this issue the Commons has said they had the license for 21+ before Cheese Bar was on board, and just stuck with it for now.

I agree with you that I can't see it as feeling "weird/wrong" to have kids in there, but maybe that's the feeling since it's only been know as adults only since opening.

Yeah, I agree with this. Well run, and I'm really loving their spot. Beautiful area and the barn itself is awesome.

Instinctive Traveler and Montmorrissey were highlights for me, but everything that I had was quite good. Looking forward to continued visits.

How busy were they, and what did you think about the parking situation? The latter is my biggest concern, have to confess.

Parking was adequate and simple, but Christian was outside directing people in which I think helped quite a bit. They're actually able to pack quite a lot of vehicles onto the lot, plus additional parking on the entry road (not Benjamin, I don't think it has a name). I can foresee issues of people parking like they just got their license and that screwing things up (no parking lines or anything).

It was pretty busy, but not shoulder-to-shoulder. Lots of room to hang around, plenty of water kegs and dump buckets, plus outside seating. Which is, again, beautiful. They definitely need to put up some signs to keep people from wandering onto the farm/orchards, as several times Christian had to go and herd groups of people off. You'd think it'd be common sense.

Zero lines for pours, smallish bar area, but 4 guys doing pours sped things up. There was an on-site food truck, but I had just eaten at Storrs (fantastic!) in Newberg prior to arriving.

My wife and I went and our experience was the same as drone described: busy, but parking was fine, no wait for drinks, and generally a comfortable and relaxed experience. Didn't feel hurried. Tons of outdoor seating, which will be great on a day nicer than Saturday was. Both the Montmorrissey and the Out of the Meyer were pretty tasty wild ales, with some unexpected flavors mixed in with the fruit. I still can't place the flavor mixed with the citrus in the Out of the Meyer, but it was some kind of savory...

Loved the place. The farm was pretty. CON:The large i want to call step or block that separates the bar is sort of scary. I almost triped several times due to overcrowding. PRO:The beers were delicious, The staff very professional and chill. That graham cracker cinnamon beer was by far my fav tractor pull....yummy. Thank you for a great time.

Yeah, I tripped on that also, despite the bright tape. And this was before I had anything to drink.

Finally had a chance to stop by yesterday, and I'll echo what everyone else has said so far.

The parking area was ample and considerably larger then I was expecting. I would guess the lot can hold around 40 or 50 cars?

They have a nice out door patio seating area, which for a day like yesterday (wonderful spring weather), was perfect. There looked to be 30 or so folks hanging out enjoying a brew or two, and yesterday they had a food cart on the premises as well. I think there were close to 10 beers on tap and I didn't taste a dud among them. At least for me, the hoppy saison and cinnamon flavored strong ale were the stand outs (and were absolutely outstanding). The $5 price tag struck me as quite reasonable for a 12 ounce tulip. The folks pouring beer were more than happy to pour a small pour of anything you wanted to sample before committing to a full glass.

The guy who waited on us was Jake, and he could not have been nicer and more accommodating. I asked about the barrel aged wild ales (of course), and I was under the impression that they expect to release them soon, and will bringing them to a number of different events during Oregon Beer Month, as well as a farmhouse ale event in PDX next month. Jake actually told me when and where some of the events were scheduled to take place, but this was our last stop after a full day of wine tasting, and so my memory and cognitive abilities were starting to be a bit fuzzy.

Frankly, in many ways W&P reminded me of SARA, both in terms of the layout, quality of the beers and friendliness of the staff. I was impressed.

It was obvious he was one of the principles, but I didn't know he was the brewer. He was pretty damn knowledgeable and was an absolute wealth of information. It was a pleasure talking to him.

I also stopped by yesterday. Christian, the owner, was also pouring and making a point to greet and chat with everyone. Super nice guys. Their beers were very good also. Really looking forward to once some of their barrel aged beers are ready. Cool location also.
