The answer to that question is in this thread somewhere, I think. I'm too lazy to look though.

I have no idea, but I do have a couple of questions I'd like to ask of you.

Chalk this up to being suspicious by nature, but... you joined BA just so you could post this question? That seemed easier to you than just calling up W&P and asking them if Jake was still the brewer there? Something about your post isn't passing the smell test for me, and has me wondering about an ulterior motive to your question.

I'm lazy too, but wanted to double check before posting my response. There was banter and comments when Jordan left, but if Jake has now left as well, this is the first I've heard about it. There's nothing in this thread about it. A google search produced nothing as well.

I'm not trying to stir anything up, I had just heard that Jake left and was just curious. I tried to call W&P and ask at one point but didn't get any answer.

Agreed, sounds like some troll trying to stir the pot up. Wish some people didn't have so much time on their hands

    Seemed like a legitimate question.

Bummer they lost Jake, but this is technically the first loss, no? Wasn't Jordan from the start just a contract head brewer to get W&P off the ground? Weird there hasn't been a formal announcement about his replacement.

Maybe Jake didn't like our good old PNW rain and weather and decided to move to Florida or Christian decided to do all the brewing by himself?

Yeah, Jordan's title was something like Consultant Brewer.

I'm really not trolling or trying to start a dust-up here. I've been a BA lurker for years but never really had a reason to post or start an account. I'm a W&P member via the kickstarter and had just heard this from a few people the last month and a half or so and wondered if it was actually true or not since I never received a response from W&P. I also hadn't seen any mention of it on any forums here or on TalkBeer.

So, a kickstarter funder found it easier to inquire about a key personnel change here because the brewery didn't mention it themselves or respond to direct questions. I'm not exactly sure what this tells me about W+P, but it's telling me something.

Perhaps that initial skepticism was warranted?

Understood, and please excuse my original post. The context just seemed a bit odd is all.

I'm with Sharpski on this one, and do not like this continuing pattern on the part of W&P. In the past, they've been less than fully forthcoming about personnel changes, release delays, event delays, etc.

I'm assuming this didn't just happen over night, and so it seems pretty clear that a conscious decision was made at W&P not tell anyone about this, including W&P club members. I really can't think of any good reason why they would have decided to do that. I can think of some bad reasons though...

Ah. Yeah, I must've been thinking of Jordan, but I guess he's the one that went to Europe.

So now with the departure of Jake after what seems to have only been a short time there, you have to wonder what exactly is (or isn't) going on with W&P. What I do know is I'm glad I didn't throw any money at them.

I really tried to be excited about these guys since they are so close and looked promising at one time, but basically everything they have done as a company just rubs me the wrong way (kickstarter, treatment of club members, lack of communication, turnover of head brewers, marketing scheme, etc.). I would be a little more lenient if their beers just blew me away, but that isn't the case.

They're still just getting started, so I'll keep holding out hope that they get things figured out.

Me too, me too, and they keep on doing things that I find very questionable and annoying (if I were a member, I'd be long past the annoyance stage at this point).

That being said, I really like the tasting room location, and the beers I've had there have all been very, very good. The folks working there are always unfailingly nice and helpful, and I quite enjoyed the bottle of Instinctive travels I was able to purchase a few months back (and did not feel it was overpriced).

I really want to like the W&P folks, but damn if they don't keep on doing things that continue to raise my eyebrows (and not in a good way).

He's a real young guy to be already working at his fourth different brewery. I see why he calls himself gypsy. He seems to like the gypsy lifestyle of living a wandering life.
