I'm in town for a conference starting tomorrow. I need a place to sit for a few hours and work while enjoying some of the local selection. I've narrowed down my options to Great Divide and River North, which are both reasonably close to my hotel (that I might venture to walk). Which would be more conducive to sitting, having a beer or three while i work on my laptop. I went with a brewery as opposed to a bar, because I'd likely take a tour and that sort of thing while i'm there.

Since I've never been in Denver (and therefore neither of these places) which would be more conducive to what I wanted to do? Any other recommendations. I'm staying at Mariott Center City Downtown if that helps.

Also hit The Source for some Crooked Stave goodness. You can also grab a coffee, lunch, etc. there. The whole place is trying a bit too hard, but I've worked from there for several hours and it was great... Close to Great Divide and River North.

    Cheers!

River North is pretty small in side the tap room. Not sure how much outside seating there is.

I'd vote River North since it will likely be a bit quieter and a better work environment during the day. Is Great Divide ever not packed?

It's a bit of a walk from River North and Great Divide, but I'd imagine Epic would be a good place to set up shop and work for the day.

I think River North and GD are too small for sitting and working. Maybe try Epic.

Epic is probably the best choice as far as space.. Their selection is great too!

Epic has the space. GD may be crowded. RiverNorth is small.
Falling Rock may be an option. Breckenridge Restaurant. Jagged Mountain is close....

...and if you go to River North when a Rockies game is playing, you're probably not getting much done.

I'd probably go Epic as well if I was in that neighborhood. Falling Rock or Freshcraft if looking for a drinking establishment...but Falling Rock you'd have to make sure there was no baseball game going on.

I assume your hotel is downtown so I will echo the suggestions above.

I would add that I have previously ditched my office and worked at Falling Rock, River North, Epic, and Beryl's (another spot to consider)...and my vote (for work "atmosphere") goes to Beryl's because it is the most mellow.

Union Station (with beer from the Terminal Bar) is another spot that that might also "work."

Crooked Stave is be a nice spot, but walking there from downtown kinda sucks. Its an easy Uber/cab ride, however.

The Wynkoop has several additional side rooms and spaces you could use. From the back areas to the whole upstairs. You could probably just ask them if you can use one of them even if they're crowded that day. They also have a bunch of good taps at the moment, too.

Lucky Pie had good wi-fi... and a surprisingly impressive tap list.
If you're on that side of downtown, then you've also got Freshcraft at your fingertips.

For breweries, yea, Epic would be good.

Freshcraft or even World of Beer would work as would Lucky Pie, for sampling multiple local brewery stuff

Just outside of downtown Denver Bicycle Cafe has great selection (8-10 taps of local stuff only) and more of a coffee shop feel. I see a lot of students study/work there.

I ended up at Great Divide just by chance really. I will try to fit Epic in before I leave. Thanks everyone who chipped in.
