I will do a NBO thread after @grze and I come up with a game plan. Look for it within a week. Would love to get a good size group going, and the sooner we get it set up, the more people we will get.

 

There will be no limit to the amount of participants (unless the provider we use has a limit). When I start the NBO, I will tag everyone who has shown interest in the first post.

My partner in this BIF is working up a scheme, I agree that it shouldn't be complicated, and being that I'm not a soccer fan, I can guarantee you won't need to know much to participate.

 

So we have a few choices for the pool, please post your opinion in the comments:

1) Pool like ESPN's, you pick the group winners and then tournament like NCAA tournament, all games picked before the first game kicks off (pro: very little involved to participate; con: you don't have a stake in every game and you can be out pretty early on)

2) Confidence pool, similar to college bowl pools. You assign a number (1-48) to each game in the opening rounds and you get those points if you are correct (you can choose draw). Then the tournament round is done like NCAA, with points to be figured out a later date (pro: more interaction, every game matters, you can't be eliminated early; cons: more work for participants, more choices)

3) Simple betting, you start with $100 fake dollars and you can bet on each game individually as much as you want (or not at all). Pros: you only bet games you feel like; cons: difficult to administer, requires regular participation from every member.
