My local beer store is selling singles for $10.99! What's everyone else paying?

-- I also thought it was funny that they still have a few singles from last year that they are selling for $8.50 a pop

Picked up a few in DE last weekend for $7.99. Up in this area, I see them for about $9 or so a bottle.

$9-$10 around here. Seems somewhat cheaper or on par with other beers in the 18% ABV range. Only thing I can think of that's a better deal is Kuhnhenn Solar Eclipse.

$10-11 in Chicago from what I've seen.

$10 for WWS is worth it. Age that stuff for years to come and it is one of the best stouts you will ever have.

I agree that it's definitely a tasty brew. It's just tough to cough up 11 bones for a 12 oz beer. But I guess you get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for with WWS. I just had a 08 the other day. Simply wonderful.

As much as I like to say abv shouldn't be a factor, you have to consider it with this beer. It's an 18% beer that probably ties up a comparatively large amount of resources compared to the regular DFH offerings.

$8-$10. I just don't buy it often though, because you basically need to wait 5 years to drink it.

I think I paid just about $10 here in MA. Wasn't a big fan of it... but it was only aged 12-16 months. I'd like to try one aged much longer at some point.

I guess I'm a bit jaded because not many people shop at my local store (stuff tends to sit on the shelves for a little while), but does it generally sell out as soon as it hits the shelf in most spots?

WWS is always full on the shelf when I go to shops near me. It may be great, but the prices scares off many.

Serving size should be a factor. ABV and service size usually go hand in hand (particularly with this brew). Also, there aren't too many 18% ABV beers so if that's what you're looking for, $10 isn't too bad for once in a while.

That sounds about right. Over here it's around $9 for the current batches, and $11 for the older vintages.

It's a complete disaster fresh (and 1 year is pretty close to fresh for this beer). I wouldn't even bother with it less than 3, and it needs 5. Grab one and lay it down for a couple of years (you can find various vintages around MA if you poke around).

It's like JW Lees - one of those few beers that really is not made to be drank fresh.
