Any truth to the rumor that it won't be brewed or distributed next year? I saw this somewhere on this site. So I bought 2 bottles just letting them sit...

considering how damn incredible wws is with 2 years on it, I've got no problem with the price, I've got 6 stashed away, it's pretty good fresh, but sooooo much better with age

DFH announced that WWS would be on hiatus this year. No word on a return.

Ive stared at WWS bottles for 2 years now scoffing at the price. I finally splurged on a bottle and realized it was worth every penny. 2010 bottle was tasting mighty fine to me.

I have several '08s and a few '09s aging right now...

a 12 oz beer for $10.99 is equivalent to a bomber for less than $20, so for a beer as strong and complex as WWS, it's not too costly.

drink one that has been aged for 5 years, and then you will understand.

Until the 1990's, brewers were prohibited by Federal law from listing ABV (unless states required it). Coors was instrumental in the court case that threw that rule out, and now listing ABV is optional (again, unless a state prohibits it). IIRC, even tho' it was Coors' initial lawsuit A-B was the first brewer to take advantage of the change (Coors, at the time, said they were waiting for more states to change their labeling regulations).

In the last few years, the TTB has proposed mandatory labels for what they call "Serving Facts" for all alcoholic beverages. Neither of the two major brewing organization, The Beer Institute (the "big" brewers and importers group) or the Brewers Association (the small/craft group) cared for the proposal for various reasons (cost and the comparisons with "drinks" of wine or spirits compared to beer). There are numerous links to other comments but the claim that the Big Brewers were against ABV listings because they'd be compared to craft beers doesn't seem to the case, given this quote from their page:

"BI supported use of percentage ABV as the proper measure of alcohol content for all products."

That store is selling one year old WWS for less than fresh. The obviously don't get what they are doing. To me it is not tasty yet with over two years on it. Everyone one on here says wait at least 5 years and this amazing thing happens with this boarder line undrinkable beer. So buy two of the $8.50 bottles and wait a 3 and a half years and see.

I paid 9.99 for 2010 a few weeks back. 120 min was 12$, so I passed on it, and they are all gone.

As a fan of both WWS and the Phillies, I couldn't help noticing that if you replaced "WWS" with "Chase Utley" in your reply, it would still be true.

Meh. With three years on it, I still don't think it's that good. But a three year old Bourbon County Stout - which was just about half the price, is easily one of the best beers of any style that I've ever had the pleasure of drinking.
