Hey folks. I manage the tap room at Wormtown Brewery. Just wanted to let you know we have some cool new things coming out in the next few weeks. This coming week we are putting out Ludmila Russian Imperial Stout. Soon we will have the Punxsutawney Pils and Warthog Wheat. The Wheat will be a year round offering eventually, however this is a test batch and will only be available in the the tap room. Same with the Pils (that will be our spring seasonal). Soon we will also have the Blonde Cougar Summer Ale as well. We are getting patio furniture too so no more sitting on stone. Come on and check us out. Cheers!

Let me preface this by saying that you guys make some great beer and that I am very excited about the new location.

Instead of posting your upcoming beers (with no actual release dates) here on Beer Advocate, Wormtown REALLY needs to have a bottle/tap list on its website. Look at every other well-known craft brewery in MA's website (Trillium and Tree House come to mind), and you will find a meticulously updated list of beers currently available at the brewery. Why not Wormtown? Honestly, it just comes off as a little lazy.

Second, I stopped by the other day for some Be Hoppy cans, picked up two 4-packs from the fridge, and was informed by a bartender that the limit was one 4-pack per customer. Really? At a package store, sure, that makes sense. But you are the brewery. Why would anyone take the time to stop at Wormtown for a single 4-pack when he/she can drive 45 minutes east or west to Boston or Monson for a full case of equally hoppy, delicious beer? Either expand production of your most popular products, or if that is not possible, reward those people who take the time to get to the brewery the same day it is packaged. /rant.

All that being said, I will still go to the new taproom for growlers whenever I can. Gotta say, though, it's somewhat difficult to take the time when I have no idea what is available.

Did you literally just go from a lurker to a poster just to tell the manager of their taproom how to run the brewery? You clearly have the slightest clue as to how a brewery works. Now im not saying i do myself, but your requests just sound childish.

Wormtown just opened the doors to their new brewhouse and they are getting a grip on production. Be Hoppy is one of MA most popular offerings that hits distribution. what makes them any different then other breweries that just allow 1 or 2 bottles? Look at it from their point of view. They want to give as many people the opportunity to grab be hoppy. If that means limiting it to one 4 pack then so be it. If you really have an issue... then drive 5 minutes up the street and get more.

They have also been posting their beer lists on facebook/twitter now and again. But again they are still getting their footing with their new location, so give it time.

Just hearing you tell them how they should run their production is comical. If you can do better, maybe you should head down there and talk to their head brewers, but the taproom manager (OP) has nothing to do with it.

I can only imagine what kind words you must have about treehouse and how they run their brewery.

So, let me start off by saying thanks for coming to the brewery. Second, we do have a tap list, its on our website next to the hours that we are open. Its a picture of our menu. Sorry if you didn't see it on our website. (Wormtownbrewery.com if you want to find it) Its also on Instagram (Wormtow_Tap_Room) Facebook as well. And of course, you are welcome to give us a call. Next, We have only a 4 pack limit so that we can can take care of more people. We canned 60 barrels of beer and only kept 35 cases to ourselves. You are more than welcome to go to a package store and get some there. As far as release dates go, I can't give exact release dates. We have 10 draft lines and 4 beers coming up. I can't really predict the future and say, "hey, The Cure #3 will be gone on April 24th so we will have Blonde Cougar that day." I am not Miss Cleo. In response to expanding production. We just moved into a bigger, newer space. We did that to expand production. We don't just can beer. We have other restaurants and bars that we need to provide draft beer to. We also don't have our own canning line and have people come in and can once a month for us. Sorry if you think me advertising the business I work for is "lazy". I come on here to try and give people a heads up on when we will have beers coming up.

I'll admit I was definitely overly aggressive in that post. I must have just missed the website's tap list the other day. Some patience on my part is certainly in order.

Birthday Brew #5 was awesome. Do you know if the imperial stout will be seeing barrels?

Took a visit yesterday and overall I was pretty impressed. Love the out door patio space, a flight was around $9. Every beer I got though was an even amount but somehow I paid 9.40. Not sure how the math worked out on that. Regardless, this will be a great place on a hot day to sit outside and enjoy a beer. Great place to have 10 minutes down the road from me. Only critique I would add is keep the On tap and Coming Soon lists separate. If you see a beer on the on tap list you have to make sure there is no green star there. . Im sure the growing pains will work themselves out.

@IPAkindaguy. Price was a weird number because of tax. Uncle Sam has to get his cut.

@IPAkindaguy. Yes. I'm not there today but I am hoping something kicked. Hoping it's on Wednesday. But again, not sure when something is going to run out. But the RIS is next.

Any headway on retail bottles for sale in taproom? Hopulence and Be Hoppy cans have been great! Will we see Bottle Rocket 6 packs at taproom? Or maybe even a bottle release of RIS?

@MVP09- right now our bottling line is still not in use. With the new fermentation tanks in, we can start to brew more beer and hopefully get the retail aspect in line. But, just not yet. The bottle rocket has gone over so well so I know you're not the only inquiring mind. It stinks we can't just make this all happen at once but, growing into our new spot will take time. With the RIS, I believe that is a one off. Not 100% but pretty sure. I'd say assume that it is unless I jump back on here and say otherwise. Thanks for the inquiry. Cheers!

@MVP09- sorry I just realized I didn't fully answer your question about bottling the RIS. Probably not seeing as its just a limited release.

Stopped in on Sunday with my family during a ride from Portland back home to CT. Disappointed that there were no Be Hoppy cans but did leave with two growlers. Tried some samples of Bottle Rocket and Hopulence, both were great, staff could not have been friendlier and the cupcake spot next store also gets a nod. This will certainly become a regular stop on our trips to Maine.

    Thank you Wormtown.

@HopQuest Thanks for stopping in. I know the Be Hoppy cans are hard to come by, but we will be doing our best to continue to make as much beer as we can. Glad you enjoyed the Bottle Rocket. It is my personal favorite.

Be Hoppy is one of the more elusive beers out there…I scored two 4 packs just sitting there in the fridge at a packy in W. Mass….made my month!
