I know! and Firestone Walker! I am a happy man, and it's enabled me to try several new beers I've already read about.

And I'm not saying we don't get a wide selection of amazing beer, it's just that Imperial Stouts are easily the style that I look forward to trying the most, but it seems like aside from seasonal releases, I've had every one readily available in my immediate area. Maybe I just need to start looking a little deeper for some hidden gems around the metroplex.

Or move to Austin, which I hear caters more thoroughly to the craft community

I really don't care for Wyerbacher Insanity...at all.

Pinot Noir, and I wholeheartedly agree... mouthfeel is all that saved it.

And it was 20 bucks a 4-pack! I cringed to know that each one of those I had coulda been a Rochefort 10 or Ten Fidy instead.

Man.. I kinda want to try this Indian Wells brew just to see how bad it is.
    Kentucky BBA was pretty bad.

Black Betty is currently my lowest rated BBA brew.

Most of my bad experiences have been related to contamination/infection...

Ranger Creek Small Batch #3 (BBA Barleywine) - tasted like Butter-flavored topping they use at the movie theater.
Ranger Creek Small Batch #4 (BBA Smoked Porter) - Imagine a Sour Stout meets a Rauchbier. Trust me, it was not a happy accident.
Foothills BBA People's Porter - tasted like green apples and had billowing carb

I've had a ton of the BBL Porter, every bottle has been great and for Foothills very consistent. Had to be a bad bottle. Definitely try it again when the next batch is released, if nothing else this one is a pure Bourbon bomb, if it was sour you got an infected bottle..

Black Diamond barrel-aged Grand Cru. Just tasted like I was drinking dime-store vanilla extract on top of a thin beer. Definitely the worst barrel-aged thing I've ever had.

They have a bourbon barrel stout that is pretty decent now. But I agree, when I hear someone order it I cringe...

But the customers LOVE IT. I see several cases a month, plus about one 5 gallon keg a month as well.

Like I said... it was infected.

I'll try it again next go around.

Surely you must be talking about the label and not the beer...right?

I wasn't a fan of the Foothills Hoppyum BA. The flavors just didnt meld for me. I like regular Hoppyum, though.

Can't say I've had the misfortune of trying Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, but I will say the first batch of NEBC BA IST was less than impressive.
