It's an old joke on BA. Did you read the review I linked?

I actually quite like this one. Perhaps the QC is not stellar? I had it and thought it was very good. Then I couldn't figure out why the low scores on here.

Two weeks ago, my boyfriend and I visited Red Lodge Ales in Red Lodge, MT. We like the town (quaint ski town) and the brewery. It's about 3 hours away from our town in Wyo, so it's an easy weekend getaway. The brewery puts out some solid flagships and seasonals. One of my favorite seasonals is the Resurrection Doppelbock. It's a malty, roasty, dark fruity version of the style. Well on our most recent visit, they had an oak barrel aged version that they were calling ResurrOAKtion Doppelbock.

I won't say I hated it. Actually, had it been served in a small snifter, I may have actually enjoyed it. But in the big pint mug, it was just...too much. Very oaky. I struggled to get it down, almost to the point of having to order a different beer to go with my sandwich, but I managed to finish it. Less was more for that beer, like I said, had I been thoughtfully sipping from a small snifter I probably would have enjoyed it more.

I hated KBS 13 everyone needs to send it to VA so that I can take care of it the right way. don't think twice, you wont like it I promise. If you would like to save the livers and dispose of your unwanted KBS please BM and I will set up a way to save you from this awful beer.

In all seriousness I think the Stone Oak Smoke was kinda off but Ill give it another go in a year or so.

Certainly agree with the Kentucky Bourbon Ale. one of the worst beers i have ever had. gladly sip a miller lite or pbr than that grossness. but i would also like to add North Coast- Grand Cru. There was pain with every sip. every sip.

Thank god for the BA app! I almost bought this just hours ago, but didn't due to the ratings.

Widmer Brrrrrbon - tasted like cheap bourbon with a shot of beer dropped in
Victory White Monkey - I thought it had a bitter vegetal taste that was overpowering, ended up dumping most of the bottle

Hebrew Funky Jewbelation. If you reduced it, it would taste like an Asian food sauce.

I keep reading how bad this is. I have a bottle at home so I'm pretty bummed. I wonder if holding onto this for a while will help at all?

4 pages and not a single mention of the rotten vegetable (tomato specifically) flavored mess that was Weyerbacher Idiots Drool? Color me surprised.

Renegade Elevated Wood. That was a new low for barrel aging.

As much as I dislike the Bourbon Barrel Ale, I am a big fan of their Bourbon Barrel Stout. Don't write that one off because of it's older, heinous older brother. It will surprise you.
