Worst beer you've tried

Cherry wheat gives me nightmares....

 

Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale, hands down.
My review:
First off, I'm typically a fan of anything that spends time in a barrel.

However, if you take a beer that's slightly better than hangover piss and barrel age it "for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries," you're bound to have something that gives off a slight hint of oak, some mediocre bourbon notes, and still tastes like hangover piss.

If I was presented with only two options for vital life sustaining hydration - drink this again or squeeze water out of elephant shit in the African Savanna a'la Bear Grylls - I'm picking the elephant shit every time.

 

Pretty much every smoked beer and also anything with pumpkin.. .blech.....

 

Bitteschlappe from Excelsior Brewing in MN. Smelled bad from the start and tasted strongly of Band-Aids. Totally unpleasant to drink and an easy drain pour.

 

Recently - Pennsylvania Tuxedo. I love DFH and its creativity. Just felt like I was taking a bite out of a Yankee Candle on this one.

RJ Rockers Son of a Peach is absolutely disgusting. Got it in a beer of the month pack and gave the other 2 away.

 

Actually pulque, made from agave sap. Its a slimy viscous milky liquid with an aroma that makes one happy to have sinus congestion. Had in the mid-70s sitting on the Mazatlan seawall from a mason jar. The people I was with claimed it was beer.

 

That 2015 New Holland Mischievous I tried last night was probably near the top of the list for me. Tasted like rotten apple juice. Just awful. Luckily it was only $4.99/22 oz bomber.

 

Habanero Sculpin. Was a complete drain pour. Found out that if you mix it half and half with a regular or grapefruit it is much better. Undrinkable alone, and I love spicy food.

 

Excluding BMCs and only taking into account well respected breweries, I'd say AguaMala's Mako.

An APA w/ grapefruit, but this beer seemed to just be raw grapefruit extract, just way over the top.

 

For me, the worst craft beer I've ever tasted would be every IPA I have ever tried. No matter who's brewing it or how exquisitely crafted to within +/- .00000000000000001% of absolute perfection it may actually be, I will perceive it as concentrated perfumed garbage runoff. Hoppy versions of other styles come in a very close second, for the same reason.

If the field is limited to only those beers that one is genetically and physically capable of enjoying, then I'd have to say the worst would probably be Werewolf, by Rinkuskiai out of Lithuania. That claimed to be a Belgian dark ale, which ordinarily I enjoy, but drank like vaguely soured syrup which had been used to soak used socks prior to washing them.

 

I might get some heat for this one, but Dark Lord Imperial Russian Stout (red wax). After a day full of drinking our supervisor thought it would be a nice treat for everyone to try. Bad decision... 1 sip and I was blowing chunks x(

 

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Clear Creek Ice is the worst beer on the planet. I would drink a case of Boxer beer before I drank one Clear Creek Ice!

 

This is not the worst beer I've ever sampled, personally, just the one that makes me the most sad.

Why? Not because it's a DIPA brewed with Galaxy that somehow manages to taste like pure battery acid. No, this is a tragedy because it's beer like this (a poor yet reasonably-well-distributed-within-MD-Galaxy-DIPA that SHOULD have been awesome) and others (like OC Kraken/Krusher/Krappy/whatever it's called this week and some Manor Hill stuff I've sampled) that make people think that the craft beer revolution has left Maryland in the dust.

Thank cripes for breweries like Union and Evolution.

I like most of their beers, but that one taste very metallic to me.

 

Probably going to get flamed for this but Surly Pentagram was the worst for me, tasted like acid refulx, I am sure some of the beers here are far worse but I haven't been so advernterous as to try some of those...
