Well, if you get Prairie and Perennial (read: Abraxas) products, then you absolutely have it better by default. :stuck_out_tongue:

But, like you, I'm a 50 mile drive away from a state with far superior selection and some damn nice bottle shops...

Montana. It's pretty sad really. You'll probably see more beers on a list that supposedly get distribution then you will actually find in stores. New Belgium, Deschutes, Sierra Nevada, and Ninkasi are everywhere, but everything else is hit or miss. Our in state breweries are surprisingly good though, so it's not all bad news.

    Same with PA. :slight_frown:

Not that I'd order beer online on a regular basis, but it would nice to have the option.

The Eastern Shore of Maryland is pretty lame. It's rare to see anything fresh.

The Eastern Shore (esp. lower) of Maryland is bad because of a couple reasons

Nearby PA, NJ, DC and VA get great beers from breweries we never see here.
And with the breweries who do distribute here, we don't get their coveted special releases, or its a few cases total.

Edit:also as skabiski said, fresh beer is hard to find. These beers take so long to get here compared to neighboring areas that I can hardly buy any IPA that is not local.

True, I make it to Fort O somewhat regularly. I've heard rumors that Founders will be entering TN very soon.

    West Texas.

If there even are any members from that area, name five great beers that you can readily find on shelves, fresh, and aren't carrying inflated prices compared to any other market. 'Cuz when I lived there, I sure couldn't do it.

As someone born and raised in the eastern SFV, but have lived in several other places, it's not as bad as you make it seem. Yes, it's not the best for rare beers, and definitely doesn't come close to what I saw when living in SD - but SD is/was far ahead of most of the country with its abundance of craft beer. That said, I have 3 great liquor stores within 10-15 mins of me (in Sherman Oaks) that get some great stuff and there are some bars putting some great stuff on tap as well in the SFV as well as a short jaunt over the hill. I was just in South Florida and the OP has it WAY worse

I think you're talking about Squatters Outer Darkness - http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/28908/54990/

www.france44.com still has 6 bottles in stock if you want to order 1 - http://www.france44.com/browse.cfm/squatters-outer-darkness/4,15374.html

eastern PA is a pretty large area, and not sure how you can include it here. I mean, Shangy's - regardless of what you think about them - is the Bells distributor for all of eastern PA, and the entire Philly market gets an absolute TON of beers. NJ has, naturally, different distribution, so it'd be hard to compare. But with Joe Canals a less-than-45 minute drive from central NJ, again, it would be hard to complain

I believe most west Texans would respond like so:

    1. Lone Star
    2. Lone Star
    3. Lone Star
    4. Lone Star
    5. Lone Star

Kansas has been getting Lagunitas for a couple months now, I'm not sure what region you are in but the state as a whole has distro. I haven't heard the rumors that we're getting Founders but it does makes sense we'd be their next move. Oskar Blues will be here very soon. Getting Bells would be fantastic, as would Surly. Either way, I'm moving to Denver in April so it's off to a whole new region. The moving truck will be loaded to the brim with Tallgrass Ethos and Vanilla Bean Buffalo Sweat.

I imagine the selection gets a bit sparse outside of Wichita & the greater KC area ( includes KU & Manhattan to me). You can probably extend that to about 30 miles due East of Denver as well unless things have changed round there...

    Like drinkin' F"in soft drinks.
Central FL get some good brew so I won't complain but I was cruisin' seekabrew because we plan on moving and Louisiana looks like they get shafted. Thankfully we are not moving there.

Can someone from Utah give me some examples of beers that are under 4% abv. I don't know of any and I'm just curious.

Try using seekabrew.com and talk with your local liquor store. I've been able to talk them into Anchorage, Mikkeller, Evil Ywin, Stillwater, Green Flash (soon), pushing for more Toppling Goliath, and a couple others. If they distribute in the state, you should be able to get in your region. Iowa has ban on over 15%ABV beer though. Can't get around that.
