So the last couple of brews, Ive noticed the wort darkens as I cool it down getting ready to pitch the yeast. Last night, I brewed a partial mash/extract Hefeweizen. The whole time during the boil, it looked light like a hefeweizen but when i put the wort chiller in to cool it down, it started to darken up (yes wort chiller was completely clean before using it). Will it lighten up as it ferments?

the wort will often look light and dark and sometimes back to light. hot break, cold break, hops and any other junk that is floating will change the color. the color of the wort during the boil will rarely be the same as the fermented and clear beer.

the more the beer is allowed to clear the lighter the beer will be. this is called "bright" beer btw. you should also remember that bright beer in a clear glass is not going to look the same as beer in a white bucket, or even 5 gallons in a clear carboy.
